Westlake Vinnolit receives EcoVadis Platinum-level CSR award

• Highest-ranking awarded to Westlake Vinnolit (until May 15, 2022 “Vinnolit”), which improved in all sustainability categories of the CSR ranking;
• Company achieves Platinum Rating for the first time and joins the 1 percent of the best-rated companies in the “chemical and plastics industry” sector. 

Sustainability is one of the core values of the PVC and caustic soda manufacturer. The third-party EcoVadis CSR ranking, in which Westlake Vinnolit regularly participates, shows that this is not an empty promise. The additional efforts to make products and processes even more sustainable are now also reflected in the 2022 rating: for its performance in the areas of environmental protection, working conditions and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, Westlake Vinnolit achieved the highest rating (“Platinum Medal”) with 75 out of 100 points, making it one of the 1 percent of the best-rated companies in the “chemical and plastics industry” ( Manufacture of basic chemicals, fertilizers and nitrogen compounds, plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms).

EcoVadis is a leading global independent assessment platform for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. The assessment, based on 21 criteria in the areas of environment, labor and human rights as well as ethics and sustainable procurement, is based on international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. EcoVadis scorecards enable customers, as well as investors and other stakeholders, to better assess and compare the CSR and sustainability performance of their business partners, as corporate social responsibility (CSR) is increasingly required in the global supply chain.
