Chlor-alkali products
Westlake Vinnolit is your local, reliable partner for chlor-alkali products. The satisfaction of our customers is always at the heart of what we do. Caustic soda
We produce caustic soda exclusively using the modern, energy-saving membrane process at our sites in Gendorf and Knapsack. Rock salt, water and electricity are used for chlor-alkali electrolysis. In the membrane process, 32% caustic soda is created, which is then concentrated to 50%.
GreenVin® Caustic Soda from Westlake Vinnolit
For the production of Caustic Soda Solution (NaOH 50%) GreenVin® we use Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (GOs/HKNs). Thus, the carbon footprint of Vinnolit GreenVin® caustic soda is reduced by about one third compared to our conventional caustic soda. This product will enable our customers to reduce their own carbon footprint and in turn develop more climate-friendly products.
