EDC Cracking Process

The Cracking of 1,2-dichloroethane takes place in a cracking furnace at approximately 480 °C. The heat value of the cracking gas is used for evaporating and superheating the EDC feed. The operating periods between two de-coking periods are very long (up to 2 years).
